Fifteen people were injured in an illegal drag race in Rustenburg over the weekend.
According to reports, 3 cars were involved in a collision, crashing into the crowd of bystanders who were hurt.
The accident occurred on Sunday, 10 July on Zendling Road, Rustenburg.
Paramedics responding to the scene found two cars that hit another car, which unfortnately veered into the crowd of onlookers.
A number of injured patients were found on the sidewalk with multiple injuries that ranged from minor to critical.
Fortunately there were no casualties and no children were amongst the injured.
The Rustenburg Herald shared that the driver of a white Mercedes Benz lost control and ploughed into the spectators. It is reported that the drag was unauthorised and Rustenburg police are investigating a case of reckless and negligent driving.
Sergeant Ofentse Mokgadi said the exact circumstances surrounding the incident are still sketchy.
