“The Death of Slim Shady” – Eminem bid farewell to his alter ego Slim Shady with new album.
“The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce),” his 12th studio album, was released on Friday. Slim Shady, whose character from his lead single “My Name Is” from 1999’s “The Slim Shady LP” gave rise to his alter ego.
The Detroit rapper’s career was largely shaped by that character, especially the upbeat 2000 hit song “The Real Slim Shady.”
Eminem delivers the album’s final blow over 19 tracks (including three skits and a scene-setting opener).
The rapper has shared two singles from the project. The first of them, “Houdini,” has become a cross-genre smash, and this week, it helps the musician behind it score his first big win on one tally in decades. Eminem first shared his first song “Houdini”, which earned him his first Top 40 hit in more than 20 years on one the charts.
“The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce),” features guest appearances from Big Sean and BabyTron, and production work from the likes of Dr. Dre, Luis Resto, Foulmouth, and the rapper himself, to name a few.
