South African singer, Naledi Aphiwe Mnyongwane had an unpleasant experience with fans over the weekend at Mthandeni’s Summer Experience held at eMdletsheni in KZN.
Naledi became well-known on social media after a TikTok video of her singing with her classmates backing her up went viral.
The same video got her a sample on American singer Chris Brown’s song Shooter and she has been one of the most talked about artists in 2023.
The Chris Brown-endorsed up-and-coming singer was jeered off stage on Sunday because the audience wanted to see Khuzani “Gatsheni” Ndlovu instead.
The audience heckled and threw bottles at her while she performed. The video of the incident has been widely shared on social media.

“I also want to offer my sincere apology to Gatsheni and his team. It was never my intention to cause any disruption or disrespect, especially to such a respected and established artist in the Maskandi community.
