DStv’s Delicious Festival has announced two new headliners for the Saturday concert, following Janet Jackson’s withdrawal due to the passing of her brother.
Jason Derulo and legendary rapper Busta Rhymes will now take the stage in her place, joining an exciting lineup that also includes Boom Shaka, Khuli Chana, and Thandiswa Mazwai.
Janet Jackson’s management team communicated the following with the DSTV Delicious team:
“Janet’s brother Tito passed away this past Sunday. For obvious reasons, Janet has to cancel her performance at the DStv Delicious Festival to be with family. Management is making plans to come back next year. Janet also wishes to thank all of her South African fans for the warm and heartfelt support she’s receiving at this difficult time.”
The Siz The World team discussed the outrage and asked, “Are you disappointed that Jason Derulo is Janet Jackson’s replacement for Delicious Festival? Do you think festival organisers tried their best given the circumstances?”
