DJ Zinhle has just announced an upcoming concert to celebrate her impressive 20 years in the entertainment industry. The event, titled “20 Years of DJ Zinhle,” will be held on August 9 at NASREC JHB.
Throughout her career, DJ Zinhle has been recognized with numerous accolades, including two African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA), three SAMA Awards, and seven Metro FM Music Awards. In 2020, Forbes magazine even named her one of the Top 100 Most Influential Women in South Africa.
DJ Zinhle not responsible for Black Motion split
Following reports that DJ Zinhle was responsible for Black Motion’s breakup, Thabo Smol, one-half of Black Motion, clarified that Ma Zet (DJ Zinhle) had no involvement in their split. In fact, according to Smol, DJ Zinhle has always supported Black Motion.
Smol believes that the pursuit of personal growth ultimately led to their separation.
“I think it’s growth and a person wanting to explore what they think they want to work on. I was told that I needed two years before we went back to Black Motion, but I needed to eat.
“There was a party in the middle, but it was not Ma Zet (DJ Zinhle). A lot of people were blaming her. She had nothing to do with it. It was weird seeing her get a lot of hate on social media. She loved and embraced the brand.”
