Multi-award-winning musician and DJ, Prince Kaybee has released yet another fire album. The 4th Republic is his fourth highly collaborative album that has been touted to be the soundtrack for dance floors across the country.
Introducing the song during his listening session, he shared how important it was to have King Monada on the album.
“This song is very interesting; I drove all the way to Tzaneen to get this feature. “Monada and I go back a long way, and we’ve got a vibe going. This one time I just felt like driving, and he lives in Limpopo, a good five-hour drive [from Johannesburg]. Nothing was planned, but I went there and we ate, had some drinks, started chatting and completely forgot about the song. The next morning he sent the song and I was like, ‘Oh okay…you did record.’”

In a conversation with Apple Music, he spoke about how the album is his way of reaching his beloved audience in a new and exciting way. On this record, he infuses diverse colour palettes with his iteration of Afrohouse—while weaving emotive textures, high-octane instrumentals and vocally driven melodies into Afrotech.
“It’s my communication with them via music, as a leader of some sort. I was focusing on the people and they are the citizens of my music, so it’s a multilingual album.”
