Midday Joy listeners were left scratching their heads trying to find answers to the unanswered questions that people shared.
One such question arose after a gent asked, “Why do women take our shirts after the vertical tango?”
Could it have anything to do with Shontelle’s 2008 hit song, T-shirt?
The question sparked debate in the office around post sex traits that people exude.
There weren’t many women who could relate to the Midday Joy listener’s dilemma as most of the ladies at Kaya 959 did not reach for their partner’s T-shirt after the vertical tango.
None of the gents experienced this post-sex trait either and perhaps it’s because they don’t linger around.
Some simply get dressed immediately afterwards and hail an Uber. Making a quick dash after sex leaves little room for “awkward discussions that women want to have”.
In an attempt to answer the listener’s question, reading into the lyrics of the song could indicate that a woman likes the closeness using a man’s clothes brings her.
There’s something incredibly intimate about wearing your partner’s clothes.
It’s the comfort level that it gives her, especially after such an intimate moment was shared. A man’s clothes has his scent on it and the post-sex adrenaline rush may leave her wanting just a little more of you.
That or, she could just be reliving one of her favourite movie fantasies. Parading around in nothing but a man’s T-shirt on is classic romantic movie fare.
Maybe she’s playfully hinting that she wants more than just a casual fling and the act of her wearing your clothes after sex is symbolic of her marking her territory.
In a way she’s engineering the next move. Sexual possessiveness is a powerful thing.
A few key takeaways from the listener’s voicenote is that this isn’t a relationship that’s heading towards commitment. If it was, it wouldn’t be a big deal that your partner wears your stuff.
Chivalrous men would actually offer their partner something of theirs to wear. The fact that the listener seems bothered by his partner’s actions indicates that he prefers an uncomplicated, easy relationship.
It’s probably time to set the record straight with her and iron out whether you see this continuing or not.
