We all have them, those weird crushes that have you questioning whether there’s something wrong with your tastebuds. Midday Joy with Unathi wanted to know who listeners are crushing on and their secrets are safe with us…not!

There’s nothing wrong with having a crush on someone and while there isn’t a clinical definition for a crush there are notable factors that differentiate a crush from a serious romantic engagement.
Crushes are rooted in fantasy and tend to happen when you don’t know much about the person.
Having a crush simplified:
A crush is when person A likes person B but A cannot tell B. Or person A is with someone he/she shouldn’t be with but has fantasies about being with B.
Crushing on someone does however bring about similar feelings to being in love releasing feel good hormones dopamine and oxytocin.
Having a crush can be described as having an attraction to someone for whatever reason. It could be their smile, their voice, or the way they eat their 2-minute noodles.
Basically, it’s whatever you find appealing about them no matter how weird those may be to the rest of us.
Zola admitted to having a crush on Sally Spectre from the Bold and the Beautiful, her saying “Darling!” got him quivering:
One listener shared how she has a crush on US rapper Lil Wayne:
Tumi has a crush on Justice Zondo, it’s the intelligence for her:
Even the Vice President of South Africa, David Mabuza is being crushed on:
Signs you are crushing on someone:
- You play with your hair more
- Stalking their social media
- You try your best to bump into them
- Always smiling when they’re around or they are mentioned
- Start replaying their conversations
- You talk about them A LOT
