The Tshabalala family and the Mandoza Foundation is putting a positive spin on the loss of Mandoza and celebrating his life on the day he passed away 18th September 2018.
The Mandoza foundation is a non-governmental organization based in Mandoza’s hometown Soweto. The organisation operating in Soweto was established on the 18th September 2017, which marked a year since the passing of the music icon. The organisation aims to teach and create awareness around cancer, encouraging early detection and encourage the cancer victims to take treatment to beat cancer.
Annual event will take place on the 18th September to celebrate the life of the fallen icon. The Mandoza Foundation together with the Minister of Arts and Culture – Mr Nathi Mthethwa, will be launching a statue of Mduduzi ‘Mandoza’ Tshabalala at the Soweto Theatre this year to continue celebrating his life.
The launch will be followed by a Gala Dinner to raise funds for the organisation. The launch will be attended by Mandoza’s friends, family and colleagues in the music industry namely Kabelo, Danny K and M.X.O.
On the 23rd September 2018, the foundation in support by the Minister of Sports and Deputy Minister of Health, will host a Cancer Awareness Fun Walk in honor of Mandoza, which will be followed by a concert within Soweto Local kwaito artists like Mshoza, Mdu, Arthur Mofokate, Mapaputsi.etc will part of the line up.
