Mihlali Ndamase has opened up about an incident at her local petrol station that left her shaken.
The YouTube sensation shared the story on her Twitter page. She said the man got upset when she asked him why he was staring at her.
“A guy just threatened to shoot me at a garage coz I asked what he’s looking at. How do you walk up to me in a store aisle, stand & stare then get upset when asked what’s up. I was so scared, coz he had his hand in his pants so he actually could’ve done it,” she tweeted.

The 24-year-old said she feared the man would really pull the trigger.
“Imagine threatening to kill someone at a garage in broad daylight. I’m still low-key shaken, the whole time I was standing there thinking he’d actually get away with it.”

Mihlali added in a separate post that the man’s reaction to her question was shocking.
“This man was screaming at me swearing guys, swearing like I did something to him coz I asked what he’s looking at. Even the petrol attendants outside asked him what’s wrong when he walked out. Hayi I can’t believe it.”

She says the worst thing about the encounter is that nobody stepped in to help her.
“Cherry on top, nobody said anything.”

Several of the star’s female fans said they were fearful of men, with one saying, “men are just scary creatures”.
One Twitter user encouraged Mihlali to open a case against the man.
“Open a case, @SAPoliceService must get CCTV to collaborate even if he won’t be audible. He has to be held to account. Next time he will actually shoot somebody,” the tweep commented.

A Twitter user tried to justify the man’s actions by suggesting her question may have come across as rude.
But he was quickly shut down.
“Would her manner of asking remotely justify a response that would entail threatening ukudubula umuntu? Are words life-threatening? The guy could’ve responded better than this threat,” a tweep replied.
Mihlali also dismissed any suggestions that her tone was the problem.
“Also what we not gonna do is discuss indlela endibuze ngayo, men are so entitled. Nothing makes threatening someone okay. Don’t annoy me please, already ndinaar.”
