Malome Vector features on this week’s edition of the Ultimate Kaya 959 Top 30 with DJ Keyez. The Lesotho-born rapper fires up the charts and reveals how he was given the nickname “Malome” at school. The artist had his sights set on the big leagues from an early age and had a hunger for breaking into the South African music scene.
Born Bokang Moleli, the artist who recently relocated to South Africa says he’s not done bagging those awards just yet. His hit song ‘Price to Play’ was his claim to fame in 2020, and after an introduction that big, the rising star could only go bigger. He found music at the age of 14 when he joined the school choir and entered talent shows but admits his road to success was not an easy one. “As much as my career is moving fast right now, I have been pushing my music for almost 10 years with no luck, it is only now that my career is starting to take-off,” he says. Financially Covid-19 hit him hard but it pushed him to focus and put in the time in-studio.
