During the conversation, listeners chimed in with their tales of sneaking snacks into the movie theatre to save money on pricey tickets.
Despite being a common practice, it is generally against the policies of most movie theatres, which rely on concession sales as a significant part of their revenue.
Earlier this year, Ster-Kinekor announced the closure of cinemas and dismissed over 200 workers.
They closed down operations in parts of Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, and the Western Cape.
This comes after the business suffered immense losses during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, which has not been easy to recover. Operating under various restrictions, including curfews, the impact meant the group had been trading at a loss and continued to incur costs.
