A lot can change in 2-years, as Thomas and Skhumba shared some of the changes in their personal and professional lives over the past 2-years.
With the country reflecting back on the 2-year anniversary of the 2021 July unrest which plunged South Africa into a quell of economic strain, job losses and utter desperation.
In 2021, chaos erupted across the country with hundreds of thousands of people taking to the streets to loot, and destroy a number of businesses.
Leaving a trail of destruction which many businesses were unable to recover from, the South African economy was strained, with many businesses forced to close.
This meant a number of people lost their jobs, leaving many households vulnerable and reliant on the R350 Social Relief Distress Grant (SRD Grant).
Now, 2-years later a number of communities which were affected, say government has forgotten the promise made after the July unrest.
President Cyril Ramaphosa promised South Africans that government will pump R3.9 billion into the support and restoration of businesses which were devastated by the July unrest of 2021.
