Growing up we all played some exciting indigenous games that have been handed down through the years and have been essential for maintaining cultural identity, promoting physical health, and fostering social relationships.
Growing up we played games like morabaraba, marbles, diketo, stick fighting, or ntimo/kgati/ugqaphu. These are some of the memories many South African children shared, and there was at least one that you were a champion of.
Andy asked: “I want to go back to some of the indigenous games we use to play growing up, abo mgusha, hide and seek, skop die ball, ma-tins, morabaraba, all those games. This is your chance to brag a bit about which one of these you were an absolute champion at. One were you were untouchable, at school they even nicknamed you after that game.”
