Break-ups are terrible, to say the least.
Regardless of when and how your relationship ended, grappling with the pain of rejection and mourning the loss of a partnership is heartbreaking not to mention very difficult.
On Feel good with Andy Maqondwana, Andy talks to listeners about the one break-up that broke them!
One listener shared how she has lost all hope in love after experiencing the worst with love.
“Andy! You! I’m not even sure what were we. Were we in the talking stage or what but this guy just made a U-turn. I don’t know what happened because we were heading in the right direction. After three years of being single, I hope he would be the one, and BOOM! I’m back to square one. I lost all hope in love and trust!”, she shared.
Relationships are not easy, neither is healing. Here are a few tips how you can get over a break-up:
- Give yourself time: Healing is not linear. It is okay if you feel sad or heartbroken from time to time because healing takes time!
- Reclaim yourself: Sometimes when in a relationship, we tend to easily lose parts of ourselves trying to accommodate space for our partners. This is why it’s okay to find yourself again after a breakup. Go on solo dates, adopt a hobby, read or go to therapy. Find yourself!
- Nourish your body: Start your fitness and health journey. Not only are you healing your body, but you are healing your mind as well!
- Reconnect or forge new friendships: Rebuild your relationships and connections. The more you surround yourself with healthy relationships the better.
