Despite ongoing battles of inequality, misogyny and patriarchy woman today are breaking traditional and stereotypical old by redefining roles of masculinity, femininity and womanhood.
On Feel Good with Andy Maqondwana, Andy poses the following statement to listeners: “Just because I’m a woman doesn’t mean…”
The topic at hand amplifies and redefines womanhood and challenges preconceived notions of what it means to be a woman existing in a world that’s unfortunately still riddled in misogynoir.
A listener who goes by the name of Mbali tells Andy that “Just because she’s a woman doesn’t mean she owes any man submission.
“Just because I’m a woman doesn’t mean I owe men submission. I don’t need to be submissive!”, she shares.
Mbali also reiterates how men often feel entitled to submission.
“I think the problem is that men think submission is a must, when it’s actually not!”, Mbali continues.
Another listener tells Andy, just because she’s a woman doesn’t mean that she’s not courageous.
