Mothers often carry emotional wounds from their childhoods and past relationships, which can unconsciously impact their relationships with their daughters.
These wounds may include unresolved trauma, unprocessed grief, or feelings of inadequacy.
Healing from these wounds involves acknowledging and addressing these past experiences, often through therapy or self-reflection. This process allows mothers to break cycles of negative patterns and develop healthier coping mechanisms, fostering a more nurturing and supportive environment for their daughters.
Andy asked: “Today I really want us to have the mom talk, I have held off on for a while. But I feel today is the day. I think as girls and young women, you get to know who your mom is as a woman and how raises you. I think the older that you grow that’s when you realize who your mother is as a woman…. The older you grow, the more you realise that you are a reflection of your mother’s trauma and wounds and things she has endured as a woman. So I wanna know from you, what are your mother’s wounds?”
Kaya 959 listeners shared on Feel Good with Andy Maqondwana some of the things they feel their mothers need to heal from.
