“Eating vegetables “- Things we didn’t value as kids that work when adulting
We all had those chores and things that frustrated us as children, things we kept asking our parents why are we doing all this stuff.
It wasn’t fun cleaning our room, washing dishes, eating vegetables, washing our hands before we ate, and we had more entertaining things to do with our time. In the same breath, being an adult is challenging. It can be extremely taxing, particularly when a lot of pressure, responsibility, and expectation are involved.
However, there are just things you have found you used to dislike growing up that work for you today.
“When you were younger there we things that the adults in your life insisted that you need to do. When you’re younger you’re like what is this, why are we doing this, where is the fun in this? But as you grow older you begin to see the value in them and why you need to do them, this is not because you need a particular routine for your mental health, but what it does for just a sense of order in your life.”
