The oldest female siblings in a family, known as “eldest daughters,” have come to realize that they have a lot in common. They frequently worry a lot and most likely experience anxiety.
They also have a strong sense of duty and are overachievers. They have trouble with people-pleaser tendencies. They struggle to establish and maintain boundaries.
Andy asked “In this month that celebrates mothers, I thought let us have a conversation with a group women who have had the mom experience way before their time. Those who were forced to be adults before their time. Eldest daughters, how are you? They call you Deputy Moms, that term has been thrown around a lot. Yet, you have lived that reality all the time. You carry alot of pressure on your backs, you put your life on the line for your family, and it somewhat ingrained in you… As you have grown into your adulthood, as you have grown into your independence, as you have grown into your own life, what have you realised you need to heal from?
Feel Good with Andy Maqondwana spoke to Kaya 959 listeners who are the eldest daughters, they all shared some of their intense childhood experiences.
