Ayanda Nyathi helps listeners and the Drive 959 team prepare for the upcoming National and Provincial elections on Wednesday, 29 May.
With confusion over the inclusion of a third ballot paper for the first time, many South Africans, especially for those who have never voted before, Ayanda tackles frequently asked questions that will assist voters.
For starters ballots need to only be marked with an X, which needs to be within the little square box.
Voters cannot disrupt voting station staff, and should not be in possession of any weapons.
Voting stations will open from 07h00 to 21h00 on Wednesday, 29 May.
A reminder of some of the don’ts
- Don’t interrupt the work of voting staff
- Don’t bring any weapons to the voting station
- Don’t campaign for your politcal party or candidates within the boundaries of the voting station
- Don’t take a photographic image of marked ballot papers
