Anonymous finds herself in a heartbreaking and difficult position.
She caught her husband cheating on multiple occasions, and when she turned to her father-in-law for help, he admitted he had already tried to intervene and advised her to leave.
Earlier this year, she finally reached her breaking point, packed her belongings, and moved out with her daughter.
In retaliation, her husband stopped providing financial support, but her father-in-law stepped in, consistently bringing groceries, money, and spending quality time with his granddaughter.
She now faces a new layer of emotional and financial turmoil. Her estranged husband spitefully cut off his own father, who had been a consistent source of financial and emotional support for Anonymous and her daughter, after discovering the assistance.
Here’s her story:
“Uncle T, I have caught my husband cheating on me several times. Last year, I even went to his father to ask him to talk to his son, but he told me to pack my things and leave because he had already tried without success. Earlier this year, I reached my breaking point. I packed my things and found a place to stay with my daughter.
Out of anger, my husband stopped supporting his child, but my father-in- law stepped in. Every month without fail, he would bring groceries, money, and spend time with my daughter. In May, he came as usual, but he told me that his son found out about the support and has since cut him off financially. That meant this would be his last visit. My daughter’s best friend-her grandfather-was being forced out of her life because of her father’s spite.
I am furious at my husband, but I don’t have the money to fight him legally. How do I even begin to explain to my daughter that her grandfather will no longer be visiting her, not because he doesn’t want to, but because her father made it impossible? Is it time for me to face my husband? We’re not officially divorced-no papers have been served-but he has pushed me to the edge. I am ready to file, and I want more than nalf of what he has. Call me bitter if you will, but this was the last straw. Am I too late to act? – Anonymous
