A listener reached out to The Best T in the City with Tbose, sharing that she and her boyfriend have been arguing a lot lately. She suggested couples therapy to help mend their relationship, but her boyfriend is against it. He thinks therapy is only for married couples. She wants to know if she might be overlooking something.
“Uncle T, my boyfriend, and I have been fighting a lot in the past couple of months. We just don’t seem to hear or get along with each other. To help save our relationship, I suggested that me and him go to therapy. He told me, without mincing his words, that therapy is for married couples and not for Mjolo.
“I am still shocked at his words and at this point I just feel he doesn’t love me. Am I reaching? Therapy is not for married couples only; it is also recommended whilst dating because you get to know each others love and fighting language. Am I too mature for this relationship? Or maybe he is in it for the short term? Do I have any other BlindSpots?”

Lulama on X disagrees with Anonymous boyfriend. She believes that counselling is not just for married couples. She thinks that if he doesn’t want to attend counselling, it may be a sign that he doesn’t see a future with her. Her advice is to move on if he’s not willing to work on the relationship.
Tebogo on X also added that if he doesn’t see a need for therapy, it should be a red flag for Anonymous that he may not see a future with her.
