A listener shares that at her brother’s funeral, she discovered that her best friend is now dating her ex after seeing them together.
While she laughed it off, she couldn’t shake the feeling of betrayal, believing her friend broke the “girl code.”
She’s asking fellow Best T in the City listeners if her feelings are justified or if she might be overlooking something.
“My brother passed away two weeks ago. After the funeral, I saw my friend. I saw her sitting with my ex. I greeted them both but was stunned to see my ex, as things ended badly between us six years ago and we have not spoken since I left him. My friend then pulled me to the side and told me that she doesn’t want me to find out from other people, she and my ex have been together for a year.
“This caught me off-guard but what hurt was her saying they always liked each other but didn’t pursue things because of me. I just laughed it off and went to attend to other people.
“Days have gone by, and this thing continues to bother me. Am I wrong for feeling this way? I honestly don’t care for that man but I feel betrayed by my friend. My mother says that as we age, it’s possible to date each other’s exes as friends but what about girl code? What could be my blind spot?”
