A listener shares that while using her husband’s car, she accidentally came across receipts for baby clothes and formula in the glove compartment.

At first, she tried not to read too much into it, but she could not help wondering who the baby items were for. They do not have a newborn, and her husband has never mentioned any family members or close friends recently having one.

Anonymous is now questioning whether her husband might be fathering a secret child. Writing in to The Best T in the City with Tbose, she asks whether she should confront her husband about what she found or simply let it go.

“About a month ago, I was using my husband’s car while attending a funeral back home. When we got to the cemetery, I left my phone in the glove compartment. While tucking it under my husband’s things, I noticed a plastic folder full of receipts. I didn’t think much of it then, I was in a rush, but when we got home, curiosity got the better of me.

“I wish I hadn’t looked. Most of the receipts were for newborn clothes and baby formula. My heart sank. My husband has never mentioned any sisters, cousins, colleagues, or friends having a baby. The only explanation my mind keeps circling back to is that he may have fathered a child outside our marriage. Why else would he hide those receipts, yet keep them so neatly stored?

“What’s eating me alive is how I could have missed the signs. He’s almost always with me and the kids. He hardly goes out, has no real friends, and is such an introvert that I have to push him to leave the house most days. Since finding the receipts, l’ve been cold towards him. He’s noticed, keeps asking what’s wrong, but I can’t bring myself to confront him.

“Do I keep turning a blind eye until he says something? Should I go through his phone to have undeniable proof when I confront him? Or is this where I go straight to my mother-in-law about what I found? And most importantly-what’s my blind spot here?”
