If there is one thing we can all agree on is that words can cut deep.
Especially when they come from people we love and hold in high regard.
It’s not uncommon for partners to say hurtful words in the heat of the moment. Often, they may not mean it, but hurtful statements are not easy to look past.
Tbose asks The Best T in the City listeners about hurtful things loved ones have said to them that they haven’t been able to look past.
One listener says his partner killed her self-esteem in the bedroom.
“My partner and I once fought and he said the most hurtful thing ever. He told me that I’m rotten underneath.
“Even today I can’t even remove that from my mind.
Another listener shares how her partner made her question her self-worth.
“The worst thing that was said to me by my partner was that he is doing me a favour by dating me because of my HIV status.
“I think I’ve never really recovered from that. I question if it was about me or my status.”
