Renowned South African singer Bucie recently joined My Top 10 at 10 with Tbose for an exclusive interview.
During the interview, Bucie opened up about some of the toughest moments in her life.
Speaking about how she’s managed to overcome adversities in her life, she attributed it to her upbringing in the church where she learned to kneel and pray in moments of adversity.
“God loves me enough to give me the strength to go through it. I’d be lying if I said God didn’t show m signs and I chose to ignore them. I want to do what I want to do, how I want to do and when I want to do it.”
Bucie mentioned that she learned to be honest with herself and stop blaming others for all her bad choices.
“We want to say you did this to me and that’s why I reacted this way. I had to say, yes you did that to me and I reacted this way and I didn’t have to. I had to sit down and say, was the reaction necessary?”
“You had the power to walk away and you chose to be you because you don’t care.
“I had to walk away from certain people. I am not about to continue being this horrible person because I am letting you be you.”
“When I decided to keep my sanity I didn’t know what was going on with me. I choose to keep my sanity because I know my weaknesses and what I can handle.
Bucie also spoke about how her exes expected her to be this picture-perfect person because of her public admiration.
“The problem I had with my exes is that they would be obsessed with Bucie and forget Nolubabalo. Having to pretend to be at peace and having to be Bucie for you to accept me,” said Bucie.
