A listener who asked to remain anonymous revealed that the father of her child initially rejected him when she was pregnant. However, now he wants to be actively involved in their child’s life, and she agreed to it. But here’s the catch: his wife doesn’t want him to have any relationship with their son. He still wants to build a bond with the child but in secret. She declined his proposal because she didn’t want her son to be kept a secret. “I fell pregnant when I was 20, and baby daddy flat-out said that it was not his child. My parents helped me raise my son until this day. About two months ago, baby Daddy reached out to me. He first apologised for rejecting the baby, saying he was young and confused.
“He then asked if he could meet our son, who is now sixteen. I told my parents about it and agreed to have a formal meeting with him, which went well.
“My son was happy, and so was his father. A few weeks later, he called me to let me know that his wife was not willing to accept our son and cut all communication with him. He wants to continue meeting up with our son, but in secret. I told him it wouldn’t happen, as I didn’t want our son to become a secret. He must either have another conversation with his wife or leave us alone.”
