The topic on The Best T in the City with Tbose this morning is one that is close to home for many South Africans.
We all grew up having dreams and aspirations, however, life got in the way.
You grew up, had responsibilities, and were forced to put your dreams on hold so you can pay bills.
However, as much as you are trying to silence these dreams, they are very loud and keep you awake at night.
Feel Good’s Andy Maqondwana says she never thought she’d be in radio.
“I think I chose it out of curiosity. It snowballed from there. Just because I’m a diligent person I always did it with precision. The passion came through but I saw it as a business.
“I chose music, Psychology, and Science and I’m so glad this career chose me. I learned that you are not in control of a lot of things.”
Tbose asks the listeners if they are “doing what always wanted to? if not, what got in the way.”
A listener tells The Best T that he is currently not following his passion, but working very hard towards it.
“I’m currently not doing what I want to do in life. I’ve wanted to become a lawyer for a very long time. Finally, I’ve taken that step. I’m pursuing my law degree.
“I’d like to see myself running my own law firm. I’ll realise this dream in 5 to 6 years’ time when I’m done with this degree of mine.”
