Starting her day on 959 Breakfast with Dineo Ranaka and Sol Phenduka is Banyana Banyana goalie and WAFCON champion Andile Dlamini.
Sharing Banyana Banyana’s journey to WAFCON success Andile says “it was destined.”
She shares how her commitment to God helped her and the team.
Our team doctor is our leader and we go for devotions after dinner. While he was talking, he brought up numbers and why it’s important to actually take the numbers in the bible and use it in your life.
So, there is a number 12 and it means nation. It means when I tithe I have to tithe R1200 because this is what I want. If I want this gold medal, if I want my performance to be top notch then it means I must be so connected with God that nothing must come in between.
Listen to Andile Dlamini’s interview on 959 Breakfast with Dineo Ranaka and Sol Phenduka.
Unlike previous tournaments, this time around Banyana Banyana had someone who helped them with their mental health.
We went to AFCON and we had Leanne work on our mental state. It was the first time we had someone like that who spoke to us on a daily and refreshed our minds. That was a huge difference and it’s something that they should look at.

Andile is building her mother her dream home
The Banyana star bought her family land with her savings. “I used every penny I had,” she adds.
It had always been a life-long goal for Andile to build her mother her dream home.
“My dream is now becoming a reality – I’m going to build my mom that house that she wants. As long as she is comfortable. I have three siblings and a stepdad,” she shared.
