In 2022, renowned South African DJ and music producer Black Coffee revealed that he had completed the work on his Johannesburg penthouse suite.
The penthouse is located at Hallmark House Hotel in Johannesburg
The project marked Coffee’s first interior design project, where he collaborated with internationally renowned designer Tristan Du Plessis.
During an interview with British podcaster and businessman Steven Bartlett two years ago, Black Coffee opened up about buying his neighbour’s house so he could party with his friends in peace.
Because he lives with his mother and his children, he couldn’t invite his friends over for parties, and buying his neighbour’s house seemed like a viable option.
“I can’t even have a little party because my mom is in the other room. And then it bothered me so much, I remember I had a conversation with my friend, I was like, Man, I love but at the same time, I just feel like this can’t be it.
“The most incredible thing happened, I got a phone call and this guy is like ‘by the way, I am selling my house and I am going away and moving to another country. Just letting you know as a neighbour”

The plans he has for the house go beyond partying and hosting friends.
