South African actor Lunga Shabalala has opened up about a deeply personal milestone, revealing his recent baptism.
He shared his joy, posting a deepfelt message alongside a photo from the special occasion. “The happiest day in my life. My public declaration that Jesus is Lord,” he wrote.
Shabalala accompanied his post with a powerful Bible verse from Galatians 2:20 (NIV):
“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”
The actor’s declaration of faith resonated deeply with fans, who flooded the comments section with messages of congratulations and support.
Shabalala’s baptism follows a similar spiritual journey shared by fellow South African actress Candice Modiselle in 2023.
Modiselle revealed that while she was baptised as a baby, she was “far too young to understand the magnitude of the moment”. Now older and wiser, she decided to reaffirm her faith, stating, “I have chosen not to be casual about the things of The Kingdom”.
In her heartfelt announcement, Modiselle explained that her public declaration symbolises her dedication to helping young people discover their worth.
“I dedicate my life to helping young people discover that they too are fearfully and wonderfully made, set apart, loved, called, and chosen as the righteous sons and daughters of the Almighty. I also long to help us all navigate our way through the hopelessness and brokenness that our nation is plagued with,” she said.
