Three determined cyclists from Burgersfort are embarking on an extraordinary journey, pedaling their way to Cape Town for a major cycling challenge, and they are now doing it with the backing of energy drink giant, Red Bull.
The “Gauta BMX” local cycling club trio, whose names have become synonymous with local cycling passion, are undertaking the grueling journey to raise raise funds and spark conversations about the importance of raising boy children into responsible, empathetic, and confident men.

“In a world where toxic masculinity and societal pressures can often steer boys astray, we believe it’s crucial to provide them with positive role models, guidance, and support. Your donation will help us cover essential costs and amplify our message. Together, let’s shape a brighter future for our boys!,” wrote Gauta BMX.
On 2 April 2025, Gauta Mahlakoane (22), Karabo Mokoo (21), and Maxwell Ndou (24) set off on their expedition. Their ambitious route will take them through diverse landscapes, testing their physical and mental endurance.
Red Bull’s involvement includes providing the cyclists with essential resources, such as high-performance gear, nutritional support, and logistical assistance.
