Ledwaba mentioned that more details will be shared soon.
Announcing her book in August, 30-year-old Mpoomy Ledwaba revealed that the project had been four years in the making.
“I want to say it wasn’t time, but to be honest I feared I had nothing to say….the truth is the idea of being a writer, contributing to libraries and dare I say an author has been a dream I wouldn’t dare utter from the moment I started working at the library at Middelburg Primary school,” she said.
“It was too far-fetched, but I couldn’t deny my connection to words, pages and stories. Girls like me didn’t write books in 2006, or at least I didn’t know any.”
Ledwaba promises her readers not a fairytale, but a mix of truth, moments of cringe, laughter, and relatability, with some parts feeling almost surreal.
“Like your first day of school kind of scared… new environment, new uniform, new friends and having to introduce yourself and hope for the best…..it’s been a journey and a half, God is holding my hand like the loving Father He is,” she said.
