South African hip-hop artist Cassper Nyovest has recently been on a journey of spiritual awakening. After publicly announcing his love and commitment to God, the rapper has given up the vain things of the world to work for his spiritual self.
Reflecting on his wedding from last weekend, he expressed that today he now stands as a “changed man, a man of faith, honesty, peace, integrity, love, and honour wisdom.”
He added, “It’s by the grace of God that I’m a changed man. Many may call me names and question my salvation, but God has called me, and I answered with pride.
“To lead the lost man of today!! I’m not better than anyone; I’m just different from my old self, for the grace of God is upon me!!! Thank you, Lord!!”
Additionally, Cassper shared a verse from the Bible, 1 Corinthians 10:30–31, as a testament to his newfound spiritual journey.
Cassper has received mixed reactions on social media following his wedding, with some insinuating that the rapper got married for the “wrong reasons.” Rapper Stilo Magolide took to social media to voice his frustration with Cassper’s recent actions. He said:
“You got us real confused,” said Stilo. “What’s going on? One minute you are dropping an album, and the next minute you found God. I thought you had God the whole time. The next minute you are married, and the next minute you have 10 bodyguards. I feel like so much is going on, and we missed a lot of episodes. Please tell us. There’s so much we’re missing.”
Additionally, Stilo said that he thought Cassper’s childhood sweetheart was Boity. “How many you’ve got? What is this thing about?” He questioned. “It looks like everybody else is wrong beside you. Why are you getting married at night?”
