Tanzania is known for its beautiful islands, with Zanzibar arguably being one of the most popular.
Well, a new gem is about to take your breath away in the East African country, with a private island resort set to welcome holiday lovers to Pemba.
Welcome to Paradise Island Resort
Paradise Island Resort is set to open in November 2027 on a private island south-west of Pemba in Tanzania.
Just in time for the warmer months in the Southern Hemisphere, the new resort could offer travellers looking for something different an opportunity to experience another side of Tanzania beyond the familiar holiday destinations.
The resort will feature 80 eco-luxury villas, including 20 exclusive over-water villas with private pools, terraces and ocean views.
I mean, who does not love a good ocean view?
Imagine waking up in the morning to the scent and sound of an ocean.
Even better, imagine sipping a cocktail, mimosa, coffee or whatever drink suits your mood that day while overlooking the Indian Ocean from your own private villa.
Paradise Island Resort is designed to give you exactly that – a luxurious escape where the beauty of nature becomes part of the
experience.

Luxury meets the ocean
The resort will feature a spa and wellness centre, gym, multiple swimming pools, a swim-up bar and all-day dining. Guests will also be able to enjoy activities including snorkelling and diving, with the area known for its coral reefs and rich marine life.
For those looking for an indulgent getaway, the resort will offer a premium all-inclusive experience, with multiple dining options and premium beverages.
And if you’re the type of traveller who wants to do absolutely nothing on holiday, the private island setting gives you plenty of room to simply slow down, enjoy the view and let the ocean do the entertaining.

How do you get there?
Getting to Paradise Island Resort involves travelling to Pemba before taking a short boat transfer to the private island.
Pemba can be reached by air from Zanzibar or Dar es Salaam, while travellers can also reach the island by ferry from Zanzibar. From Pemba, guests will then take a short boat transfer to the resort.
Your next African escape?
There is so much to explore across Africa, and Pemba might just be the destination to add to your travel list for 2027.
With its private island setting, over-water villas, ocean views and mix of luxury and nature, Paradise Island Resort looks set to offer travellers another reason to explore beyond the usual African holiday destinations.
Sometimes, the perfect holiday is not about going further.
It is simply about finding somewhere beautiful enough to make you want to stay a little longer.
