In what must be the biggest split in celebville since Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston, power-couple Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are headed for divorce after 6 years of marriage and 4 children.
Married life in pandemic mode
According to reports, the “Keeping Up with The Kardashians” reality star and the hip-hop artist slash fashion mogul West, have been living separate lives for a while. Kim had to care for the couple’s 4 kids throughout the global COVID-19 pandemic. When the hard lockdown hit, homeschooling their eldest daughter North fell solely on Kim, who was juggling her business commitments and their other 3 children while Kanye was battling COVID-19.
This meant “Kimye” spent most of 2020 living at opposite ends of their $16 million gated Hollywood Hills mansion. Early last year Kim took to her social media to defend husband Kanye after the eccentric megalomaniac released a statement that he was divorcing Kim following years of abuse and unhappiness.
Kim called for fans to be sympathetic and supportive of Kanye’s outbursts which were a result of his bipolar disorder that was progressively causing conflict in the star’s personal and professional life. West’s unsuccessful US presidential campaign bid was also said to be a result of his bipolar disorder.
Calling the shots
Many believe that Kim just wanted to control the situation and push the narrative of supportive partner until the time was right and she was ready to call it quits. Yeezy’s fans believe that his life with Kim was very controlled and frigidly scripted and have come out in support of the marriage ending.
It is said that she’s hired top celebrity divorce lawyer, Laura Wasser to handle the divorce. When this will happen is still unclear, with Kim said to be focused on her ambitions to become a lawyer so she can make a difference in criminal justice reform.
