He succeeds American social media star and dancer Charli D’Amelio, who currently has 122 million followers.
With few words and just some meaningful hand movements, which have become his signature, Khaby Lame, real name: Khabane, has quickly become one of the sensations on TikTok.

Unempoyment to Tik Tok Megastar
The young creator started his TikTok account @khaby.lame March 15, 2020, while Italy was under lockdown due to the covid-19 pandemic:
“It all started during the first lockdown: I had recently lost my job, so I decided to start recording in my bedroom,” he says in an interview by TikTok.
Before the pandemic hit, he worked in a factory but lost his job. With lots of free time on his hands, Khaby started doing TikTok videos reacting to other creators’ content.
