The Rock shocked the internet this week when he made his Hip Hop debut. Within hours the song was the No.1 rap song on iTunes and the music video trended at No.1 on YouTube.
Face Off is Tech N9ne’s track featuring Joey Cool, King Iso and Dwayne Johnson who has a small part in the song.
This led to the Kaya Drive discussion on whether success is transferable. His hip hop debut wasn’t exactly bad but it didn’t scream hit either.
His popularity, fame and success over the years has solidified him as one of the most recognised celebrities in the entertainment industry.
“What’s the best thing about being famous? For me, the answer is easy ~ making people happy.” – Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson
Starting off as a wrestler on WWE, The Rock tried unsuccessfully for years to break it into Hollywood as an actor. Making a cameo appearance in The Mummy returns in 2001 and then playing the lead in the spinoff The Scorpion King.
He had a string of cringeworthy movies including The Toothfairy, Pain & Gain, Hercules and Race to Witch Mountain.
Despite the misses, he’s gone on to secure an estimated networth of $321 million.
Apart from endorsements, advertising and photoshoots, The Rock has his own brand of tequila, Teremana Tequila Blanco which further secures his bag.
