In the spirit of women’s month, Kaya Cares, in partnership with the Clicks Helping Hands Trust, held a Moms and Daughters Conversation at The Maslow Hotel on the 31st of August 2017. Kaya Cares invited 10 best performing grade 7 girls from Mvelaphanda Primary School, 10 high school girls in various schools in Eldorado Park, the educators and their mothers.
The aim of this programme was to discuss social issues affecting young girls and to create a platform for a conversation for the girls and their mothers. There were guest speakers whom spoke on various topics that were character building for the young ladies and somehow led into creating the necessary conversations. The programme had guest speakers such as Candice Kern-Thomas (Director, SA Consulting Project), Vuyo Tembe (Clinical Psychologist), Blue Mbombo (Face of Clere radiance) and a performance by Berita. This conversation was conducted with an aim that the conversations will continue at home and build the characters of our smart young girls.
