Kicks Sportswear is South Africa’s newest apparel and footwear brand.
Inspired by today’s rapid urbanisation and the growing interest in healthy living.
Its founder and CEO, who hails from Tembisa, a young and ambitious Sammy Mhaule, is on a mission to introduce a South African sports brand from Africa to the world.

His passion for business began at a young age back home in Tembisa, where he learned the importance of having grit and perseverance.
From the age of 14 to 19-year-old he had been fending for himself and didn’t really know at the time that it was entrepreneurship.
“I am inspired by everything in Tembisa, one of the things about me is that my roots are there, it’s where I had my first business. I understood very well how to hustle and making things work for myself. My dad was the only one who was working at home, we had to ask ourselves what do we have to do to make sure we survive.”

Kicks Sportwear has a passion for producing quality sportswear for everyone. Mhaule spoke about how tough it was to start with understanding his market when he launched his business during a global pandemic.
“Without realising that you are not going to make that dream on your own you’re doomed. It’s so important to get a report, right now we are selling our product online but I understand that without understanding the consumer behaviour and what they really want you are setting your business up for failure.”
