Roc Nation Sports, founded by Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter in 2013, recently announced a partnership with South Africa rugby team The Sharks, described as a new era for the team based in Durban.
The partnership gives Roc Nation a minority stake in the club which will help amplify The Sharks’ brand through creative activations, digital stategies and execution, commercial sales, community projects, among other activities.

The partnership will position The Sharks as a premium rugby club in South Africa and around the world. Dr Eduard Cortzee, CEO of The Sharks, said the team is excited about this new partnership with the globally recognised company owned by billionaire mogul Jay-Z:

Roc Nation Sports’ global reach
Roc Nation Sports currently boasts over 100 baseball, basketball, American football, international football, rugby and e-sports athletes. The partnerships aims to attract top players from around the world to The Sharks Rugby team . They currently have offices in London, Los Angeles and New York, with a massive global network in the sports industry.

They also manage two Springbok players who had a massive contribution to the recent World Cup win, Cheslin Kolbe, and Springbok captain Siya Kolisi. They also manage Maro Itoje, an English Rugby player, who plays as a lock for English Championship club.
