Janet Jackson finally received an apology from Justin Timberlake 17 years after their horrid 2004 Super Bowl performance.
The embarrassing performance became Timberlake’s rise to fame after his split from boyband NSync and his breakup with pop star Britney Spears.
Justin took to Instagram to apologize to both Spears and Jackson for the flawed industry and his actions in failing both women he respects.
After the documentary ‘Framing Britney Spears,’ Justin came under fire by millions of Spears fans for his handling of their breakup.
Spears, who suffered a mental breakdown shortly after their relationship fell apart, was publicly humiliated while Justin moved on without batting an eyelid.
The pattern was similar to Janet and their Super Bowl incident because Janet received public backlash despite Justin being equally to blame for the wardrobe malfunction that left Jackson with her breast exposed.
Taking the high ground, Jackson thanked her fans for their support and for making her single ‘Control,’ number one 35 years after its release.
She did not mention Justin in her Instagram post, but her thank you to fans came a day after Timberlake’s public apology.
