His passing comes just a few days after Jacob Zuma handed himself over to police at the Estcourt prison in KZN.
Although nothing has been officially said by the Department of Correctional Services, Zuma can apply to leave his prison and go home to bury his brother, and later come back.
Zuma’s younger brother was 77-years old at his passing and no further details about his death have been made available by the Zuma family.
Michael was the Zuma family spokesperson when his brother was president.
Since Zuma’s arrest, protests have been ongoing in parts of KZN and has spread to parts of Gauteng with a further call for a complete shutdown of the country.
