President Jacob Zuma’s lawyer Eric Mabuza has confirmed his client will not present himself before the Zondo commission at the State Capture.
The Commission set aside this week to hear Zuma’s evidence. His attorneys found the summons issued for Zuma to appear before the Zondo commission to be irregular.
Political analyst Ralph Mathekga has weighed in on this matter, calling on the ANC to take a firm stance on the issue.
“The party needs to distance itself from the conduct of the uMkhonto weSiwe Military Veterans Association,” Mathekga said.
Following a visit to Zuma in Nkandla last week, the uMkhonto Wesizwe Military Veterans Association (MKMVA)said it would do what is necessary to protect the former president from arrest.
Mathekga has criticized the conduct of the MKMVA, saying the organization is acting outside the system.
