An investigation is underway to determine the cause of a fire which broke out at Parliament’s Old Assembly building in Cape Town on Tuesday night.
Emergency services contained the blaze. It was put out just after midnight.
Although the fire affected certain areas, including several upper floor offices and committee rooms, it injured no one.
The areas of the building not affected by the fire were left flooded due to the activation of the fire sprinkler system.
It is not clear what caused the fire.
