Mark Zuckerberg’s company Facebook Inc. have confirmed that Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp have all crashed due to a major outage.
The three social media apps have been down since midday Eastern Time (ET), or 18h00 to users with a standard time zone (GMT).
Ironically, the company took to Twitter to inform users that their platforms are down.
We’re aware that some people are having trouble accessing our apps and products. We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible, and we apologize for any inconvenience.

Irate users logged calls on outage tracking site Down Detector after struggling for hours to upload content and send messages via Facebook messenger and WhatsApp.
According to reports, the outage seems to be widespread, affecting users across the world. Facebook experienced a similar crash in 2019 but remained cryptic about the cause, issuing a statement that technicians had triggered an issue during routine maintenance.

While the company assures users that they are working on resolving the issue, there is no indication for how long their sites will be down.
