Idols SA has confirmed that the show will go on without Randall and Unathi. The news comes after rumours that Somizi Mhlongo will be returning to Season 18 of the show.
On Friday, director of local entertainment channels for M-Net, Shirley Adonisi said the channel will not be renewing the contracts for Randall and Unathi.
Both Randall Abrahams and Unathi Nkayi have expressed their gratitude to the show which is set to usher in a new judging panel to help ratings.
Unathi who has been a judge on the show for the past 11 years, penned a heartfelt thank you to fans and contestants.
Thank you for your love South Africa and our beautiful continent of Africa. Please allow me to honour you. You have been kind, loving and deeply invested. Truly the real energy and heartbeat of a wonderful wave of hope and dreams coming true on Idols and as you do that, you have made my dreams come true too. THANK YOU.

Randall, who was dubbed, “the Simon Cowell” of South Africa will be focusing on a new music project which he’s keeping close to his chest.
The controversial judge was with the show for 20 years, and all 17 seasons.
His honest assessment of South African songstress Shekhinah back in 2011 is perhaps his most prominent moment on the show.
He told the SAMA award-winner that while she may not go on to win the contest, she is destined to be a star.
Fast forward to 2018, where Shekhinah scooped SAMAs for Newcomer of the Year, Album of the Year and Female Artist of the Year awards for her work on her debut album Rose Gold.
Auditions for Season 18 of Idols SA are currently underway.
