As the COVID-19 pandemic causes an uptick in hospitalizations, nurses play a critical role in caring for every patient, regardless of borders. Every year on May 12, the world celebrates International Nurses and Midwives Day to recognize the contributions of nurses. This Day also commemorates Florence Nightingale, the father of modern nursing.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 9 million more nurses and midwives are required by 2030 for all countries to achieve Sustainable Development Goal.
