51-year old Lerato “Material Mathousand” Mahoje from Soweto has been entertaining bystanders in his neighborhood for years now and is still going strong.
He is part of a flourishing Izikhothane Material Culture, a movement of young people who love expressing themselves with brightly coloured designer clothes, flashy jewellery and most importantly, the dancing.

The term Izikhothane, a Zulu word which means ‘to show off’ has been used to describe this group of South African men who bring excitement with them everywhere they go.

Over the years the movement has been lambasted for showing off too much by burning money and wasting Ultra Mel custard.
