Mpho Morolane, an Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) member, has left the party.
Morolane, a former president of the EFF Students Command, handed in his resignation to secretary general Marshall Dlamini earlier on Wednesday morning. Morolane stated that he has decided to choose a different course in his political career.
“It is with great difficulty that one has decided to step away from a decade long affiliation with the ECONOMIC FREEDOM FIGHTERS, my service to the organisation has been with humility, integrity and respect. It should be noted that one was never enticed into opposing the posture of the organisation publicly and on unsanctioned platforms even in stances where one was firmly opposed.”
“The pain that one endured in decisions taken by the upper structure in relation to one’s tenure as the Inaugural President of the Student Command has never warranted from one’s end disrespect to senior leadership.” wrote Mpho Morolane
His departure follows the party’s former deputy president, Floyd Shivambu, and Mzwanele Manyi, who joined the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) party.

The Siz The World team deliberated on this move by Morolane and pondered Floyd Shivambu recruiting some of the best members of the EFF to join him in his new party.
They asked, “Is EFF under attack or do you feel it’s politics as usual?” They also invited EFF members to share whether the exit of Shivambu made them leave the party with him.
